Mark Perlson, CPA®/PFS®
After starting his career at a large public accounting firm, Mark Perlson launched Perlson LLP in 1985. Mark retired on December 31, 2019 and realized his dream of moving to Charleston, South Carolina. Mark had been actively doing business in Charleston since 1989 and officially took up residence in South Carolina in 2021.
Perlson is unique among CPAs as creating a cohesive firm that not only offers accounting services to businesses and business owners and professionals, while also providing full-circle financial planning.
In addition to having served as the Founding and Managing Partner at Perlson LLP, Mark later shifted his responsibilities to focus more on his financial service business. He is the Co-Founder and Director of Financial Services at JP Wealth Management Inc., a federally regulated Registered Investment Adviser located in Mount Pleasant, SC a suburb of Charleston, SC. JP Wealth Management Inc. provides comprehensive wealth management services to Perlson LLP clients as well.
Perlson LLP, represents the realization of Mark’s creative vision to comprehensively advise clients by leveraging the knowledge gained while serving as a trusted advisor to the firm offering clients counsel on their personal finances.
From his Charleston location, Mark is available to Perlson LLP to offer his wisdom and sage advice as it relates to his diverse client base, some of whom have been with the firm for over 35 years. Mark and his wife, Martha, invite long-term NY clients to visit with them in their new home in Charleston. Mark is always available to provide his innovative input and is considered an esteemed person of character and trust in the accounting and financial industry.
1. What about your job inspires you?
I’m inspired by the opportunity to work in the most beautiful state of South Carolina while I help people achieve their financial goals, and having them know they’re in good hands.
2. What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
All things Charleston, South Carolina! I love to officiate weddings and sing in the Chabad of Charleston as a cantor. And not to forget golf…. gotta hit ‘em straight!
